But yeah, apparently just like it's a good idea to keep your car in motor oil, it's a good idea to keep your shredder reasonably well oiled because otherwise the mechanical parts will break down. I'd rather buy a $40 shredder and $10 worth of shredder oil than, for example, a $2000 shredder. Neither did I until I started doing research into a new shredder.
